Too late to start? Which server should I choose? Posted: 14 Jul 2020 12:13 PM PDT Hello everyone. I've played mmos since 2004 mainly being world of warcraft. I first started playing eq2 when it came out as well. My question is I just started playing original eq and I'm wondering is there any point? Is it still active? Will I have a hard time making friends and getting stuff done? What server do yall recommend? And I am enjoying the retro experience. I have made it to level 5 already in the crescent area. An unrelated question is do I really have just 3 quests to continuously repeat? Or am I not finding anymore? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jul 2020 07:40 PM PDT On Aradune I'm maining a cleric. Now that I'm looking to camp some mobs, gear spots, farm money, etc and I'm wondering what a good box would be. I can barely kill anything myself. I've done enchanter cleric combo. It's a beast! The only issue I have is that the enc is only as good as the mobs in that zone. Take a 50 enc to upper guk and it's not so powerful. Also can be exhausting charming, healing and mezzing. Otherwise the complete heal, cc and charmed pets are overpowered. My second choice would be necro. Can split pull, snare and fear kite most mobs. Not sure about clearing names camps unless they're undead then you can charm. Not sure about synergy here feels like cleric tagging along. No clarity and no cc would be a bummer. Other ideas: mage or monk? Same issues- no cc. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jul 2020 03:31 PM PDT Hey everyone, I'm wanting to start EQ for basically the first time and am noticing that all the servers are non-PvP servers, except Zek which is really low population. Someone on here mentioned to me that PvP in EQ is more of a "gimmick" anyway. Are there no PvP servers? Is PvP in EQ boring/pointless? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jul 2020 03:37 PM PDT (Obligatory 16 year returning player post) I started playing again on Cazic with some friends yet they are all max lvl and I am starting from scratch. Remade my Necro (best pet class I ever played) and am now lvl 36. I am duo with a bard lvl 33. My question is, what should I be doing to set myself up for success later? Certain skills? Just focus on lvling? Is so till what lvl? And when do I meed to do what? Hoping to raid with friends eventually. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jul 2020 03:25 PM PDT Which trade skills do you think are worthwhile outside personal accomplishment and enjoyment? Most info on-line seems like it could be very outdated! Fletching seems very useful to a ranger, perhaps blacksmith for tiered armor, tailoring for bags if you don't want to just buy them off the bazaar... anything else? Do rogues really use make poison for the support poisons or just buy the dd poisons from the vendor? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jul 2020 03:20 PM PDT Hello, I'm thinking of wanting to try EQ, my parents played it and I've asked a bit about, like the guild they were in the Hands of Doom (which sounded quite intresting) and the server they were on -AB - was like. I want to experience what they did, but is it worth it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jul 2020 02:38 PM PDT as the title says, is there a specific 2 handed dps class or user? i'm currently a 45 warrior and wondering if i'm regreting my choice as a first time player lol... I was looking at SK or ranger instead maybe.. any input would be great :) also aside from the 2 handed aspect, would ranger be a good class investment for multiple expansions if i decided to stay? or does war get any better/ more intresting.
