What the heck is going on with stats?! Posted: 28 Feb 2021 04:12 AM PST On my stats page, my Strength is 1791/ 1359 + 755. I understand that the first number is my base stat, the second is my cap, and the third is my heroic. On the regular inventory tab, my STR is 2114 (which I guess is 1359 + 755). I assume this is the actual effective stat that is used in, say, combat. This raises questions: If my actual STR (2114) is derived from adding my cap and my heroic together, then what is the first number (1791) even for? If I remove my breastplate which has a strength of 72 +43, the first number (1791) goes down by 72, the cap (1359) doesn't change, and the heroic stat is reduced by 43. On the inventory tab, my STR goes down from 2114 to 2071 — a reduction of just the 43 points. So again, I ask what is the first number (1791) even for? If I would buy a rank of Innate Eminence, which increases every stat by 2 points, what would it apply to — the base stat that doesn't appear to do anything (1791), the cap (1359), or the STR on the inventory tab (2114)? If the answer is the first one, that would mean buying this AA would be completely pointless — right? What do stat buffs affect? If I get a Strength buff, does it apply to the first number (1359), which would be completely useless, the cap, the heroic, or directly to the STR number (2114) on the inventory tab? Again, if it's the former, the buff would be completely useless — right? I've been Googling extensively and cannot find a clear explanation. If anyone understands this stuff, please enlighten me. Current Best Resources for EQ Info Posted: 28 Feb 2021 12:15 PM PST Hello all, I was last active in EQ in 2005. A lot of my old resources for quest and item info seem to have died out. I know Alla's is still up, but are there any other recent additions that would be helpful?
