I just want more oldschool style EQ gameplay. TLP are fun, but I've done them so much. Posted: 06 Mar 2021 10:40 AM PST I've played pretty much every TLP release since their first relatively broken iteration of it way back years ago. I just love everything about them. EQ really was something special. Loot scarcity, group requirements, danger, a support role (I play only bards), and just general "wild west" feel with how quests are woven into the world instead of just exclamation marks and logs. It really is something special. As Aradune ventures forth into the inevitable final expansion before the mass exodus, I really wish there was more out there to chase. The game really just isn't the same after that point, with group instances, loot being everywhere, much fewer random discoverable quests, and a general paint-by-numbers feel that a lot of modern mmos suffer from. Gates wasn't a great expansion from a technical standpoint, but it was kind of the herald of what was to come, and probably a good reason why most people jump ship for the next TLP. Anyway, I just wish they'd either expand on Planes of Power's style with some TLP specific content, or some other company would come in with an oldschool style EQ mmo so we'd have something to do.
