| Does anybody actually get punished Posted: 08 Aug 2020 12:13 PM PDT Has anybody actually encountered a scenario on a server where a user is actually punished for afking or automating their gameplay while not present. I have been playing on firiona vie for about 5 months now and have seen and reported countless players for obvious use of a certain program while being clearly afk yet nothing has ever seem to come of it. I even went the extra mile of recording one very prolific player on the server doing it for 15+ minutes with no interaction or awareness to what was happening to his bots and tried to submit it under the additional evidence of the report feature. Hes still afking 12+ characters in howling stones 24/7 for days on end. This is perhaps the most disheartening part of having come back to play. I enjoy the game even in its modern incarnation but it seems that nobody is actually held to the rules. I have to explain to long time friends that it just seems to be the way that it goes and there is apparently nothing that can be done about it and see the disappointment from them as well. Wheres the fun in going to a zone and finding it full of competing yet completely non responsive players who seemingly never go away unless they've set their program to do so upon player contact. I had known this was an issue before coming back to EQ but apparently nobody explained exactly how severe and widespread the issue is nor that its seemingly impossible to get these people punished. | Returning player server question Posted: 08 Aug 2020 08:10 AM PDT So in the past I played on Cazic-Thule and I still have characters on that server, but I see that there's timelocked servers now under preferred servers, what does that mean? Are those servers more full of players? I tried picking the game up again a couple years ago but there was nobody playing except for the higest level characters and I couldn't find a group [link] [comments] |
