EQ Classless 3.0 is approaching beta!

After almost a solid 8 months of planning, R&D, heads-down coding, and rigorous testing..

EQ Classless 3.0 is approaching beta testing on Saturday, February 20th! This beta period will last for a month or more and there will be a wipe followed by release. We would like to thank our alpha testers for all of their help polishing the game thus far!

The intent of beta is to polish the game and is the 'add content / improve stability' phase of our testing.

As for the final wipe and thus launch *after* beta, we're currently targeting late March, early April.

For those of you who aren't acquainted with Classless or any of its previous iterations, here's a bit of a synopsis:

    - In Classless, you can play as an Everquest Class or as a Classless character.

    - Classless characters can learn and use any spell or ability in the game, while EverQuest characters are limited to their original spells and abilities.

    - EQ Classless 3.0 fundamentally changes how gearing and progression works and replaces it with new depth through choices such as stats, gear, spell loadout, and augmentations.

    - 3.0 continues the trend from Classless 2.0 and has replaced EQ's progression system with the AA point window. Your AA point total is factored into determining your current level.

    - You are restricted to 1 client per account, and we enforce this via IP restrictions and analytics. A system exists to allow hiring your alt characters as mercenaries.

    - EQ Classless 3.0 is also designed from its inception to support small-scale 6-man content. Raid content, by design, is entirely instanced. Instances scale players down to a set power level, ensuring consistent difficulty.

    - Raid sizes are a max of 6 players.

    - Classless has a focus on major 'Quality of Life' (QOL) changes to EverQuest, ranging from clientside modifications, to gameplay changes, and modifications which fundamentally alter how the game's progression works.

Some of these QOL features include:

-Specialized backpacks with higher than normal slots. Craftable items will be over 10 slots in size, and have specific properties depending on the tradeskill used to create them. For example, the Stackpack which automatically filters in items that are stackable to that bag on autolooting, or the Void pack, which vendors items of a specific type as you loot subsequent items of that type.

-Auto-loot on items that you have previously looted that will fit a stack in your inventory.

-Auto-learn and scribe spells for EverQuest classes as you level

-Spell synergy system, where the choices of spells loaded improve the power of spells loaded of that type

-Personal loot system with lockout timers implemented for important NPCs and raid content

-Use your account's alts as mercenaries, in lieu of having the ability to box characters

    -Built-in clientsided DPS meter.

-Position-based floating combat text for you and your group members.

-Server side calculations are used for a majority of client data, allowing for more consistency between what players see. This also reduces the amount of 'server restarts' needed.

-Some popular features built into the client (mobs on map without names, expanded item info, etc) to reduce the urge to rely on third party programs.

-Custom and complex anti-cheating tools to track and ban cheaters. We are big on game integrity here.

-Offensive actions use Endurance/Stamina, while beneficial actions use Mana. Mana does not regenerate in combat.

Lastly, we'd like to announce a 'Beta Launch Event:'

Those who reach specific displayed level milestones at specific points during beta will receive special rewards after the wipe on launch.

Those milestones will be "First to hit Level 20, 30, and 40" during the Beta period. Two separate categories will be added: "Tradeskills Used Milestones", and "No Tradeskills Used Milestones". A total of 6 winners will be announced during the beta phase as these events are completed.

You can join our Discord server below. We will have a proper website up closer to the official launch.

We hope to see you in beta!

    Toggle Mouselook mod/macro/program?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 09:11 AM PST

I've recently come back to the game, but I've returned with hand/wrist issues that I previously didn't have in years past. Holding the right mouse button down is killing me, but it's how I've played for years. Is there anything out there that will let me toggle that button being held down?

I use autohotkey with a ton of other games for this very purpose, but for some reason, it doesn't work in the EQ window for me. It's a simple macro that holds the right mouse button down when i press and releases the hold when I press it again.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Complete beginner, not sure which version of the game I should go with.

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 11:35 AM PST

Played a little bit of the live game to see if I'd enjoy it before potentially putting any money into it. I really like the idea of progression being slow and difficult, so I don't care about getting to endgame quickly. From what I've played, it reminds me a little of OSRS which I love.

So not sure if I should go with P1999, TLP, or stick with live. I like having a challenge while leveling. I mainly want to go at it solo for now, experience the world and everything at my own pace. I'm wondering how big of a difference there is in QOL features and if going with P99 might be too clunky for me. On live, UI is a little rough but I'd get used to it for sure. Also, will the amount of content I'm missing by going with an older version be too much or is there still plenty in P99? Probably leaning more towards TLP or P99 now that I think about it.

    Thanks for any help!

Newcomer to EQ, Aradune vs p1999 differences?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2021 01:29 PM PST

Title, have things such as class abilities changed over time the same way wow has? I know Aradune has some quality of life differences, but how different is the gameplay regarding class balance, party composition and the like? I'm looking to start one of the two.
