    Mages, main vs boxes

    Posted: 23 May 2021 07:03 PM PDT

How much extra performance are real, played mages pushing out vs boxed ones?

I kinda want to play a mage but if they're really simple to get good performance out of then I might leave those raid slots to folks running them boxed and play something more impactful.

Is a boxed mage like 50, 75, 90 percent as good as someone actually playing one as a main?

Clumsy's World: Resurgence is a semi-custom EQ server that has an amazing mix of new and old. You get the EQ experience that we all love, with some exciting new content/features! Come get settled and join us in exploring the frozen island of Velious and the custom content that will be launching to go with it.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The Lore:

What the players know, as of Velious, is that Kerafyrm was the illegal child of two opposing elemental dragons, creating a powerful prismatic dragon. Kerafyrm rose quickly to great strengths, becoming an exceptional general, but developed an insatiable hatred and blood-lust. Because of this he was seen as a threat by the Council of Elders and Veeshan sentenced him to death. An acquaintance of Kerafyrm's decided instead to lock him away in a prison, known as Sleeper's Tomb.

During his rise to power Kerafyrm acquired many followers; they were known as Ancients. Who are they, what were their motivations, and what would become of them if the Sleeper were ever set free?

Clumsy's World: Resurgence dives straight into the world you remember and expands on the stories of the Ancients and follows the Resurgence of Kerafyrm. Come join us as we embark on this journey.

    Sick of losing dps races...

    Posted: 23 May 2021 01:20 PM PDT

I played a pally on Aradune and was always chased out of solo camping a rare spawn. If I'm going to be soloing on Mischief, which class can competently and consistently defend their camp? An old guildie was recommending an SK for harm touch, but I'm not feeling playing a tank again.

2 box setup for miragul into live?

    Posted: 23 May 2021 08:32 PM PDT

Me and my friend want to try and get involved in live servers. We want to kind of learn the ropes and work our way into it. We're thinking of using the miragul server and going from 85-115 in time for live later this year.

We're trying to decide on a good 4 toon setup + 2 mercs to get us from 85-115 and be able to handle our own in the group content and get caught up to raid level.

I imagine we'll need a tank so probably one of the 2 knights is most ideal?

Then we'll need a solid healer, my friend is partial to big numbers so he's leaning towards cleric + wizard. We're thinking a Paladin + something with a slow to round out the 4 man and then 2 additional wizard mercs?

Do we need an actual tank to do the group content, or can merc's / mage pet's tank? If they can tank, we'd rather try to mage tank or like charm with a chanter, but we know like nothing about the game past PoP.

    La Mirage Background Image

Does anyone have a more high resolution picture of this? Maybe a touched up one. Some how I have kept this picture since when I found it all those years ago when playing everquest. This might have come from the same person as the Sinzan CCH video.

    Mischief berserker gear advice

    Posted: 23 May 2021 06:51 AM PDT

I haven't done older content in a while. I want to start on Mischief, but I want to be a berserker. I know that's a bit after launch, but I wanted to see if anyone could suggest armor and weapons to farm/work toward getting for when the zerker drops. Or even class suggestion to play until then. My friend is being a shadow knight. Thank you!

    Best tank box?

    Posted: 23 May 2021 01:55 AM PDT

I've never played tanks in eq because they are so hard to gear and don't do well without gear.

This go I'm thinking about running a tank so if I do actually stick with the server long term I've got a way to continue the grind into next expansions.

I'm leaning towards warrior. I realize they have aggro issues early on but I'll be running a caster group and honestly the warrior can just afk half the time when I don't feel like working hard enough to heal him... in other words aggro is a non issue. The other thing I like about warrior is they have access to lots of gear and weapons. The knights seem like certain weapons are harder to attain, and are more niche... warrior seems like they have more options, and on a server with random loot I'm bound to find gear I can equip. So my questions, starting for TLP but may carry to later expansions...

What tank does the most damage? All things being equal, how big is the disparity? Night day, or unnoticeable? Any comment on this regarding classic/kunark vs the same question on later expansions?

Which is easier to auto attack play? Seems like warrior is mostly auto attack and later, disciplines... have to deal with a spell bar seems like considerably more work, yes?

Is warrior mitigation superior forever? Noticeably better?

Thank you for any feedback... any boxer advice is especially appreciated.
